A simpler approach to runNING stronger and racING faster

Hi, I’m Pete.

I ran my first 5K in third grade, and I was hooked.

Since that race, running hasn’t only become a part of my life, it’s shaped my life.

Running has helped me stay close to my brothers and family, running many virtual and in-person races together over the years. When traveling, I’ve found running to be the best way to get my bearings and explore my surroundings. When relocating — whether it was Tucson or Brooklyn, and now Richmond — great friendships and community formed through running.

From high school to college, and beyond with sponsored track clubs, I ran under several coaches with various training philosophies. Along the way, the ones I’ve admired the most and found the biggest impact working with were coaches who embraced runners for who and where they were on their running journey.

What I know firsthand is a runner requires more than motivation to improve. My goal as a coach is to provide the tailored support, guidance, and honest feedback that I’ve found so invaluable to help runners at all levels improve. The most exciting thing about being a coach is watching an athlete’s confidence grow as they realize their strength. To be a part of that journey with you, whatever level you’re at, would be a privilege.

My favorite mantra is something I repeat in my head on workouts and races: “fast and relaxed.”

For those data-hungry folks, here are a few of my personal bests:

A simpler approach to runNING stronger and racING faster

 Hi, I'm Ryan.

My running journey began in my beloved home state of Maine. Starting with a Summer Track League at age 9 I knew I had found a community and a sport that I loved. Cross country unlocked a whole new world for me that was trail running. Running became a safe haven for me to not only find myself but also connect with nature on such a pure level that I still feel to this day. It has revealed new strengths I didn't know I possessed and that has carried over to my professional and personal life as well. We are all a lot stronger than we give ourselves credit for and running has a powerful way of enlightening those corners of our minds.

I have been lucky enough to train and race for great high school, collegiate and sponsored track clubs over the years along with some incredible coaches. It is time that I paid that knowledge forward. My goal as a coach is to inspire other athletes to believe in themselves to chase big goals and educate them on the necessary work and tools to get there. No matter if you want to use running as a way to just stay healthy or to chase quantitative goals, I want to help runners find the joy in the miles and the merit in hard work and dedication to a dream.

My go to mantra is, "breathe in strength, breathe out weakness".

Here are some of my personal bests:

HALF MARATHON - 1:10:02
((2023, Ventura, CA)

MARATHON - 2:33:26
(2025, Sacramento, CA)
